1341, September 17. Monday.

*Through this charter, the representatives of the Order of Santiago take possession of the village of Sagra and its inhabitants take an oath of fealty to them as their new lords. The context is an exchange of lordship between the Order of Santiago, which received the villages of Çenet and Sagra, and Pedro de Villanueva, who received the village of Agna. Through this charter, Muslims living in Sagra acknowledge and promise to fulfil their obligations, monetary and otherwise, to their new lords. As such, this constitutes an example of the process through which Muslims entered relations of coercion and dependence with military orders in the Middle Ages. *
